INTRODUCTION
This first edition of the Mi Doc_Musica, International
documentary film festival on music and dance, will feature
the best documentary productions in cinema and television
between 2004 and today, and will run simultaneously beside
the MiDoc_Arte, in a prestigious venue in the city of
Milan from September 12th to the 30th, 2007.
The festival will be presided by Francesco Alberoni and
Carlo Fuscagni, with the artistic direction of Rubino
Rubini and cultural consultation of Anna Maria Cerrato
and Antonella Greco. This is an initiative promoted and
organized by Milano Doc Festival, a non-profit cultural
association.

INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION
Mi Doc_Musica is divided into three sections: :
1.
MUSIC AND MUSICIANS
This section features productions made between 2004 and
2007 from all over the world about musicians, opera, and
classical music. Documentaries accepted in this section
are related to the world of classical music, melodrama,
concerts, rehearsals, portraits of authors and singers,
biographies of musicians and performers, stories pertaining
to music of any nature and quality, tv programs and news
segments on music, concert halls, folkloristic events,
musical artisanship, the construction of spaces and venues
intended for music, musical exhibitions, etc.
2.
FOLK, POP AND JAZZ
This section features international productions
made between 2004 and 2007 on Folk, Pop, Rock and Jazz.
Documentaries accepted in this section are related to
folk, pop, rock and jazz music from all over the world,
from its more traditional expressions to the age of electronic
experimentation, as well as films on the stories of its
protagonists, filmed biographies of its greatest exponents,
concerts, interviews, behind-the-scenes footage, events,
etc.
3. ALL ABOUT DANCE
This section features documentaries from
all over the world and produced between 2004 and 2007,
on the theme of classical ballet, and modern and contemporary
dance. Documentaries accepted in this section portray
all genres of dance, the rehearsals and performances,
dance academies, folk and popular dance, tango, samba,
belly-dancing, flamenco, acrobatic and athletic dancing,
mime, rock and roll, waltz, polka, ice-dancing, etc. This
section also includes documentaries on the history of
dance, dancers' biographies, performances, costumes, choreographies,
cross-contamination of genres, and important dance events.
Participants are to specify for which section they are submitting their film. The selecting committee reserves the right to move any of the submitted films from one section to another, or to assign any of the films to non-competitive showcases.

PRIZES FOR THE MIDOC_MUSICA INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION
A selecting committee will select the documentaries allowed to participate in the competition.
An international Jury, composed of five exponents from the world of music, dance, journalism and culture, will officially award the following prizes:

The Jury will also elect a special mention for other documentaries of particular value. The Jury's verdict is unquestionable.

PARTICIPANT RULES
The Midoc_Musica festival will only accept productions from 2004 to 2007 featuring the content specified above. International films must provide subtitling in Italian or English. If subtitled in English, we also require dialogue transcripts.

By entering the contest each individual filmmaker or producer is responsible for the content of his work and warrants that the grant of this licence will not infringe the copyright (sound or picture) or any other rights whatsoever of any third party. By applying the Festival the participants explicitly allows the use of sound and video materials. Milano Doc Festival may also show short clips or images from the submitted entries on television news, broadcasts and in all kind of promotion and communications activities related to the Festival. Copyright's owners also authorize further showings of their works without any charge for non-profit purposes.
The subscriber declares that all the submitted information are true and allows their use for promotional and communication purposes related to the Festival (catalogue, web site, press releases, etc.). Subscribers will also be requested to send two pictures related to their film if admitted to the competition.
Both the admitted and the non-admitted titles will not be returned to the film senders, as they will remain for good in the archive of the Festival for documentary purposes. They will not be used for commercial purposes and could be seen within the archive for free.
Signing in the competition entry form implies full acceptance of all the terms and conditions.
These rules are considered part of the application form and must be signed and attached to it.
In case of controversy, the Court of Milan will have jurisdiction. Should there be any interpretation problems of terms and conditions, the Italian version will be considered final.
Personal information will be dealt according to the terms of Law no. 675 of 31/12/1996 and following changes and additions.
